Who we are
findmygp.ie is a free public service that helps people in Ireland find GP practices accepting new patients. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at hello@findmygp.ie.
What data we collect and why
Email address (alert subscriptions)
If you sign up to be alerted when a GP practice opens nearby, we store your email address and the area you searched. We use this only to send you that alert. We do not use it for marketing and we do not share it with third parties, except Resend (our email delivery provider) who process it solely to send the alert on our behalf.
IP address (status reports)
When you submit a status report about a GP practice, we record your IP address. This is used only to enforce our rate limit of one report per practice per 24 hours, which prevents spam. IP addresses are not linked to your identity and are not used for any other purpose.
GP portal accounts
If you are a GP practice and claim your listing, we store the email address you use to log in. This is used only to authenticate you and allow you to manage your practice listing. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
How long we keep your data
- Email alert subscriptions are kept until the alert is sent or you request deletion.
- IP addresses used for rate limiting are not stored beyond what is operationally necessary.
- GP portal accounts are kept for as long as the listing is active.
Third-party services
We use the following services to operate findmygp.ie:
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting. Data is stored in EU data centres.
- Vercel — website hosting and analytics. Analytics data is anonymous and aggregated.
- Resend — transactional email delivery for GP opening alerts.
No personal data is sold or shared with advertisers. No tracking cookies are used.
Your rights under GDPR
As a resident of the EU or Ireland, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict how we use your data
- Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from alerts)

GP practice data
Information about GP practices (name, address, phone number, opening hours) is sourced from the HSE public GP directory and is not personal data under GDPR. Community-submitted status reports are anonymous and do not contain personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
